How does Hero Power make money?

Hero Power does NOT purchase electricity from ComEd. Like ComEd, we buy electricity directly from the energy market. Since it’s impossible to send clean energy directly to your home, we purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to match 100% of your electricity consumption. ComEd matches ONLY 6%.

You still pay your ComEd bill every month, just like you always have, except ComEd pays Hero Power for the energy supplied to you. By providing a superior customer experience, we hope that you will stay with Hero Power longer, offsetting the additional costs of RECs.
